Population Assessment

We are industry leaders in fish enumeration and population monitoring.

Environmental problems are complex and multifaceted, and we combine monitoring techniques to develop innovative and effective monitoring programs. We are highly experienced using rotary screw traps (RSTs) to count out-migrating fry and smolts, and our fabrication team designs and installs anchoring systems for demanding applications. Counting fences can be an effective means of obtaining population estimates for migratory species, and our biologists have several decades experience building and operating river-wide fences throughout British Columbia. Our field teams are highly experienced in standard fish sampling methods including backpack and boat-based electrofishing, snorkel surveys, visual surveys (ground- and air-based), net capture, and more.
